Adventure Activities in schools are a vital part of education in New Zealand. They extend the four walls of the classroom into New Zealand’s great outdoors, providing students with an opportunity to experience real-world challenges in a learning environment. 

However, poorly managed outdoor education has the potential to expose students to unnecessary risk. 

At AdventureMark we fully understand this risk and can help you manage it. We will audit your systems to make sure your school is managing the risk from outdoor education effectively, and that you are following New Zealand and International best practice guidelines.

Although adventure activities conducted by schools are not subject to the New Zealand Adventure Activity Regulations, we have tailored the Adventure Activity Audit Standard to be more relevant to schools. This will provide your school with the same level of audit that all adventure operators are required to go through in New Zealand. Our audits also meet the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA).

Our audits include both a full document review and onsite visit from our specialist team. Our schools team has many years’ experience working with schools in the outdoor sector and will help guide you through the process smoothly.
